Job Summary:
TrialPay is seeking a Senior Scalability Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced with tuning and scaling the LAMP stack and ensuring that applications are lightning fast and massively scalable.

Responsibilities:
Design, architect and code changes to improve site performance
Monitor, analyze, and collect data about system performance
Identify bottlenecks in various jobs/tasks and optimize/parallelize them
Improve database write throughput by sharding centralized tables
Add various levels of caching to applications to increase responsiveness
Profile and optimize end-user latency
Identify slow queries and optimize them
Research and integrate new open-source technologies into our stack

Requirements/Experience:
Comprehensive knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
Expert ability to identify & resolve system bottlenecks
Expert ability to analyze & interpret technical data
Expert understanding of throughput, latency, memory and CPU utilization
Expert understanding of database performance characteristics and high volume data handling processes and techniques
Expert understanding of MySQL with the ability to analyze, debug, and tune queries
Significant PHP development experience
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, networking topology, routers, and switches

Pluses:
High volume Web traffic/transactional experience
Experience configuring and tuning Apache
E-commerce industry experience
Any technically relevant personal projects
Strong background in math, statistics, and/or computer science
Computer Science bachelors degree
Advanced technical degree
